Jupiter - Turbulent regions following the GRS and NEB

Posted: May 30, 2002

This three-week sequence demonstrates the major changes that have taken
place in the SEBzone, the belts themselves.  Also note the very prominent
and scintillatingly bright white oval in the SEBz located at about 130d II,
interestingly NOT seen on December 1's image (top right) BUT showing plainly
on Dec. 9 and even more pronounced on Dec. 11.  This oval is growing rapidly
and is becoming ever-brighter to visual observers.

In addition note the great atmospheric "torquing" within the NEB seemingly
centered on the dark barge B-4.
