Hi all,

I finally managed to get a glimpse of the veil last night with the DSI-Pro, but I'm very disappointed with the results.

The following is an RGB image made using Ha,UHC and Blue filters for RGB data sets respectively.

My questions are:

1) Why is the big star in the Ha version so much smaller than the rest?
2) Do I really need to shoot 5-6' subs to get the veil to pop out like Mark's does?

I shot this through a 105mm camera lens with a new Astronomik IR blocking filter on the front for the entire session. Each data set is comprised of 2' subs (I accomplished this by using my LPI as a guider through the LX90, need a big bright star for that!).

Rick, I recall you had picked up a DSI when they first came out. Do you have any suggestions for this issue? Before I added the IR filter, I couldn't avoid halo's around the stars. I'm starting to think I'm not going to be very successful with this camera and this lens. It might work for my larger lens, but this doesn't seem to promising. I might just have to go find another of these to use as a guider or possibly use this and a much better camera for imaging.

Thanks,
Dave
