David,

Here is my version of your Pacman

I took your last image and played around with levels mainly and sharpened a little with intellisharpen, Fred Miranda's software.

Ron, that looks great. You've certainly figured out the image processing skill set. Sometimes less is more, eh?

Thanks Dave,

I haven't really figured out anything yet, I'm still hunting and pecking, and never ever remember what I do from one step to the next grin

Sometimes I just get lucky.

Ron,

The background looks great.  Perhaps it is my monitor, but, the blackpoint looks clipped and the nebulosity got grainy.  How do you like intellisharpen?  I have been considering addint that to my tool kit.

David,

You did all the hard work in putting the image together, all I did was a little tweaking to suit my own taste.

The clipping probably came from my reducing the black point level to decrease the background bloches.   The nebulosity doesn't look grainy on my monitor, but that could be my eyes cheesy   Before I used the intellisharpen, I put both images up side by side and the nebula looked a little soft so I sharpened just a small amount.

Sometimes intellisharpen works but I'm sure you can do the same in many of the other editing software.

I wish I could tell you how to get more out of your images, because I think all the  information is in there, but I'm at a loss for the proper steps and procedures.

Just hang in there and keep on doing what you are doing, I'm sure everything will eventually come together.

David,

The image is looking good however there is a little too much red in the background for my taste, but everybody has there own taste grin  I really do envy you nice star background, and hope to be able to get that someday.

I don't think I would spend $25 for it now since I don't use it that much.  It's been so long I can't remember exactly what I paid for it but it was less than $25.  I had his first version and received a discount for the upgrade.

Keep up the good work

I see the same think and have to figure out a way to even the background out with out 1) killing the nebula ans 2)kill all of those stars I managed to get!!!

Good to know, perhaps I'll pass on it then
