For the past few weeks I've had the company of a screech owl trilling in the big Pine tree about 20' from my scope all night long. It's been pretty cool since his arrival has driven away the skunk that used to visit me. Well tonight I realized that there is more than one owl in the neighborhood. As this one trills, there is one a couple of yards away hooting back to it.

God, I love Spring (even though it's still cold out there tonight) !!!!!

That's pretty cool, and keeping the pests away is a great benefit.
You should keep your camera handy to see if you can get a photo of them.

Sometimes at night I hear a hoot owl. Very distinctive but you can never range or distance them. Like a dove. Great audio. They might be ten yards away or fifty. And, great hunters of varmint. Can't have enough owls around. Was driving to a work site the other day and saw a really big bird carcass in the road. Think it might have been a red tailed hawk that have been populating the area. Was probably scavenging road till and got nailed by some moron who targets anything alive in the road.
