Dear Group,

I seemed to remember that the correct power supply is: 115 volts (wall outlet) to 12 volts for a Meade LX200 is 12.3 volts and 13.7 amps?  The Amps seem high? Any help on this would be appreciated.   Maybe I got the decimal place wrong? Time to get rid of the batteries while at home, and save them for star parties.

thanks in advance

Hello,

Is 2.5 amps with 13.8 Volt PS enough to run a LX200 GPS?  This PS would be dedicated to the telescope?

At the 2011 Oregon Star party several people had solar panels to charge 12V lawn mower batteries that they used to power telescopes and accessories.

Thank In Advance

Kip,

Here is a recent discussion on power supplies http://www.arksky.org/smf/index.php?topic=1920.0

As long as it is a good regulated supply, it should work.
