Some things are lots of fun to report, and impressive to read as well.
One of ASO's greatest supporters has always been Dave Birmingham, who has a very fine automated observatory in southern Illinois.

Unknown to most folks is that Dave many times keeps me focused on things that need to be addressed on the website and particularly the ASO Forums.  With my 18-hour per day schedule, I miss a lot of things that I should not.....and growing older does not help on the efficiency side.  So many times when a Forum member posts something that needs to be addressed or answered, it is Dave that alerts me to it immediately.  What a tremendous help.

Well, on Sunday, November 27, I received a short e-mail from Dave, part of which I felt like I needed to share with our ASO family:

".........I have passed a milestone at ASO. Back a few years the government passed a national 55 mph speed limit and launched a large campaign to get the public behind it. One of the slogans, and bumper stickers, was "Drive 55, arrive alive". Back then I used to have a CB radio in my truck and would often hear the term "double nickles" from truckers referring to their speed. For whatever reason that number has stuck in my head and this morning I passed the 'double nickle' milestone for days spent on the ASO site......"

A total of 55 DAYS logged into ASO!

Fantastic and congratulations to Dave!....and THANKS from Doc.

Thanks for sharing Doc

Dave has been a big help and inspiration from my day one of becoming a member of the ASO Forums way back in 03 smiley
