Dear Group.

I dove off the deep end today and sent my telescope to Meade Instruments.  Meade said, "Two weeks."
I about passed out when I saw the telescope dropped into a second box, at UPS.  I let the group know when
the telescope comes back and if was fixed.

If you remember, I had Auto Star II  problems that led to problems with the telescope itself. last September . . .

I sure wish that you had contact me first to assess everything that needs to be done; it may have been something that a part could have solved.
Keep us posted and best of success on this!

Dear Dr. Clay and group,

Thank you Dr. Clay.  I would have shipped the telescope to you, rather than Meade.
Still, the telescope is under warranty and I'll cross my fingers in hope that Meade can fix it.

Pardon the pun, yesterday I had shippers' remorse.

Dear Group,

Just received word that Meade has my telescope.
Send your prayers to Meade, I know I am.

Thanks to all the group.

Dear Group,

Just received a telephone call from Meade, and they said there was nothing or couldn't find anything wrong with telescope.
I talked to Meade for a long time explaining what was wrong.  Meade hadn't connected the telescope a computer yet.
What's wrong with telescope was carefully documented, through telephone calls I made too Meade support.

I called back and talked to Jose Radilla and he said that problems has already been fixed, and they were working on the run away problem?
And that they would be returning the telescope to me tomorrow and hung up.
Could they unload that information from telescope. Yes I had a run away problem a couple of times?

thoroughly confused  and relieved at the same time.

That is totally bogus and it has not had time to even get into the repair queue.
They have absolutely NO way of defining if the telescope has ever had a runaway.  You have one of two problems:

1) your power source or connection cable is bad; or
2) your front control panel circuit board is faulty.

Meade service is simply getting worse by the day.  When you call you are talking to a Mexico service center and not one of them have actual telescope experience; the telescopes are sent to Mexico for repair and I am hearing from folks throughout the USA of telescopes that have not even been opened up for inspection and returned as "fixed"......I have seen four such instruments in the past year.

Dear Dr. Clay and Group,

I think the best process for dealing with my telescope is to
wait until it returns? When it does return, I'll carefully assess the
"problem."

In the mean time, I'll get a new power supply from Radio Shack.
I was totally on batteries at home and in the field too. Also, I have a
12 v deep cycle battery on my list.

Thanks for the support on this Dr. Clay and thanks to the Group.
