NEW Supernova in Galaxy M95 in LEO

A new bright supernova has been discovered in the Leo galaxy
Messier 95
.
It is officially designated
S2012aw
and is given the official position designation of
PSN J10435372+1140177
The Supernova is magnitude 13.1 at present, which is very bright for so distant an object, at a distance of 38.5
MILLION LIGHT YEARS
The photo below (click to enlarge) was taken March 21 by
Mike Weasner
from his observatory in the arid skies of Arizona. He used a Meade LX200 ACF telescope and a SLR digital D7000 camera. Congratulations to Mike for an excellent "catch."
