I am sure everyone has heard about the upcoming transit of Venus? I am getting things ready and I have a lot of preparation because I have never viewed the sun so I don't have the filters. I hope those of you who are experience in this type of astronomy will post some of your expertise for the novices. The transit is June 5, 2012 and this the last one until 2117.

Hi James.....a transit of Venus from any particular point on earth - particularly the point on which YOU are - is incredibly rare, so you can believe that ASO will have an article in MAY on the Alerts link from the home page about all the details that we need to be aware of to prepare for this once in a lifetime event.
It WILL be very favorable from all of Arkansas and surrounding areas, so thank you for the heads up to our Forum readers.....

Much more to follow!
