Mars from Tampa FL 10:10 pm EST

360 frames stacked in registack.  My Mars orientation is oriented in the way I see it at the eyepiece.

Color removed and compared to ALPO's approximate CM

Seeing was very good, but it was very, very windy. Still a lot of clouds on both sides.  I might have been a little over powered using my 14mm wa ep + 2.4 barlow.  I was trying to wring out as much as I could with my 8" scope and sick Nikon camera grin

Good shot and nice detail starting to emerge.
What is the length of exposure of EACH exposure?  You need to try for about 30 frames per second or thereabouts and gather more frames, up to 1,400 and let Registax do its thing on sorting them out.  If you can overcome seeing conditions with faster exposures and more shots per second, you will continue to improve rapidly.

Thanks Dr.Clay,

I'm almost too embarrassed to post my Planetary images because they are acquired in the most unorthodox way. embarassed cheesy

I am not using any video camera, just an old Nikon in continuous mode, that only gets me about one frame a second.  After about 50 frames, the camera will stop shooting until it unloads the buffer which takes about as long as it did to acquire the 50 images.

If I ever get a chance to upgrade my camera to one that can shoot at 30 frames a second, I'm sure would give much better results smiley

About the only thing I can say about my method of acquiring images, is that it allows me to see a little more detail than I can at the eyepiece.
