Dear group,

When I have the opportunity  to get my LX200GPS 8" outside to test and check it over.  What do I need to do test and check this telescope out? I've own this telescope less than a year and had it out many times.  Now, I want to go about my business with the telescope in a quantifiable fashion?  Am I making sense?
Weeks of rain has not dampen my enthusiasm. Thanks in advance.javascript:void(0);

Hi Kip.....
I am assuming that you have run some dry tests indoors?  If not, then turn it on and have it set up in a "dummy allign" position and go through the motions of alignment, tracking, GO TOs, etc. to assure that not only everything is working BUT that you will refresh yourself again with the methods and be familiar with the buttons once outside in the dark of night....nothing is more frustrating than setting up and making "user error" mistakes over and over again because you may have forgotten the fundamentals.

In the meantime, be sure and set up exactly as described in your manual AND the best advice is to FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS as they scroll on Autostar....they are actually very, very good at walking you through the steps to success.

Enjoy and report back!
