This image from 01/02/2005.  Small break in the clouds allowed about 30 minutes of imaging.  Really nice tail.  Cloud cover passing made for a rough mosaic but It is still nice.  Thanks, Mike H.

Mike,

Nice job.  This image definitely shows a lot of transformation going on in the tail!

The Comet must realy be getting brighter because I could see it the other night even through some hazy skies.

Thanks for sharing, I really enjoy seeing your Comet images.

I have regained access to my AOL pages after a year.  I will now post links to all comets here.  Please visit for new images as I can.  The latest is a color from 01022005.  Thanks, Mike H.

Mike,

That's a great shot. I was out with my wife last night looking at it with binoculars and then later with my scope. I couldn't see a tail, but my eyes are definitely not what they should be (seeing the eye doc later this week).

I'm pretty sure you've told me before, but what are you using to create these images? I'm wondering if I've got enough horsepower to create something like this.

thanks,
dave

Got my first good view last night up here in the Northern Adirondacks. Good sized tail. Nice and bright about the size of the Great Orion Nebula. excellent through 12x60 binoculars. Showed it to my wife and quickly gave her a tour around Orion,Taurus and the Pleides. Still too cold for a motorized scope.Glad I got a look because bad weather (clouds) is setting in for the rest of the week. Hope things clear for the 8th when it is next to the Pleides. Rick.
