Hi,

For several years, I have had my web page hosted at Geocities but would like to change for a host which does not post commercial popups.

Any suggestions ?
I do not mind paying a few $.

Thanks and clear skies

Jean_Yves,

You might want to look at http://www.lunarpages.com.  Unlimited disk space, 999 email accounts with your own POP server, sub-domains, and all sorts of other neat stuff.  I think its around $90 a year.

I had the same problems with Yahoo hosting my web site.  After the forums moved to Lunarpages I checked them out.  I signed up that night and it has been great.  Tons of web space and email addresses.  Great support and its very cheap.  I paid 7.95 per month by paying for the year up from.  That included my domain name and all.

Wow, that is cheap!
I rent server space through a local provider.  I get 800MB of space, 40GB of data transfer, 100 email addresses shocked and I don't have to worry about any advertising popping up on your machine...all for ~$60 a month.  It has served me pretty well over the two plus years I've been online.  On top of that I get to support a local business and I know where the profits get spent!! Cheesy

We did that too, until they sort of got the "we expect it attitude".  Lunar Pages has really good support, either by phone or email, and a lot of things we didn't have before, and for a heck of a lot less.  I'm happy with the change so far.
