smiley   I have a request for anybody without snow:

Send some warmer weather my way!   I have about two weekends worth of work to complete my roll-off observatory and I can't seem to get a break!  Just the outriggers and the roof left to complete.  I have everything ready in sub-assemblies all over my garage and am out of room.  I have worked in snow and pouring rain and 0*F temps since Thanksgiving to get this far and then haven't been able to get at it for the last three weekends!  First I thought the whole thing would float away, and then I figured the ice gods would tip the nearest tree over on it and now I can't get around with the lawn tractor because of the snow!  (Lumber in front, obs. out back)   AAACK!
Who's bright idea was it to start this in November anyway! rolleyes

Kenny,

Welcome to the forums, and here's wishing you better luck on the observatory.  I wish we had warmer weather, however the high today was 36F and supposed to get into the teens tonight.  We do have a dry spell however, but I want to keep that here for a while Wink

Hi Kenny,

I have plenty of warm weather for you from Singapore ... but it comes as a package with tons of clouds!

Good luck with your project, looking forward to seeing the pictures of the observatory soon,

Cheers

Welcome Kenny,

I remember you from the Old Forum, at least the name " Arcticrail".

I envy your plight cheesy

I wish I had room for an Observatory Sad

I know it seem like the weather has gone crazy here lately and you never know quite what to expect Shocked  shocked but hopefully things will be looking brighter just around the corner Smiley

Please keep us informed with posts, and some pictures if possible, of you progress.

0 degrees ,what a heat wave!! Up here in the northern Adirondacks of NY its
-21 degrees F., send some of that "Warm" weather up here. We need it.

On a side note: If you can buy a Chinese made tool shed at Sam's Club for around $700.00, when will the Chinese make an observatory for under $1000.00 of the same material? Rick.

I wondered why I couldn't log on and then realized that the list server had changed.
In any case I have several webpages uploaed already on the website.  If you google arcticrail (all one word) you'll find several different links to the website.  Just hack off everything after the .com and you'll find the home page.  Hit the "Night Skies" link and the rest is easy.  I'll post a link when I've cleared the guidelines.

Construction is as much comedy as anything but has been a learning experience.  I can't wait to finish.  I have a new DSI that's barely been out of the box in the last month!! huh

As long as the earth holds to it's orbit as it has for the previous million years or so, warmer weather must be on it's way!! afro

Regards to everyone, it's good to see some familiar handles again!
