Here's an image I made last night as well. It's pretty crude, but by the time I started this one the camera was getting pretty hot. At least that's where I think all the noise was coming from. You should have seen all the hot spots in the image. This is a composite of 10 42" images tweaked just a bit in PS7.
I used an Astronomik 13nm Ha filter.

Dave,

Nice size on the M57 smiley

Sure beats my small images. 

The only thing I can see is maybe you should have shortened your exposure time down just a little and gone for a few more sub exposures.  The stars were starting to get a little egg shaped.

I think you are doing just fine for just starting out on a new venture.  I hope if and when I ever advance up the ladder a little further I can do as good. cheesy
