Mars on August 8

This image of Mars taken by ASO Petit Jean Mtn. on August 8 shows the prominent OLYMPUS MONS volcanic peak in the lower (northern) part of the martian disk; note the shadow on the left side of this great peak, as the sunlight is approaching the martian globe from the right in this webcam image.

Composite image of 1480 images, 1/20th second each via the Toucam and processed using Registax freeware.
